CRPS 550W–1300W Titanium Power Supplies

The volume segment of every server rack. Our 550W, 800W and 1300W CRPS modules are in production today on the standard CRPS-185 envelope — 73.5×40×185mm, 1U height — with 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency of 96% at 50% load. Whether you need silent compliance for enterprise 1U/2U servers or hot-swap redundancy for a storage array, this series drops into the golden-finger footprint your chassis was designed around.

Three Rungs, One Footprint

550W

550W — Dense 1U Baseline

For single-socket 1U servers and ToR switches where every millimeter and watt counts. The lowest-loss way to meet a tight thermal budget: at 50% load on a 275W draw, titanium wastes under 6 watts versus over 12 watts for a comparable consumer-grade brick.

800W

800W — Redundant 2U Standard

The default choice for 2U enterprise servers and dual-path storage controllers. Two 800W units in N+1 cover a sustained 640W system draw with margin, and active current sharing keeps both units loafing in their 96%-efficiency window.

1300W

1300W — GPU-Option Towers

Bridges general compute into accelerator territory: a 2U chassis with one or two low-profile accelerators, or high-spinning JBOD drawers full of disks. Smart PMBus variant reports per-rail current so your BMC can throttle before a fan fault becomes an outage.

Titanium is an OPEX decision

Moving from Gold to Titanium lifts 50%-load efficiency from roughly 92% to 96%. On a 10kW fleet load that is about 430W of heat per hour you simply stop generating — smaller PSUs run cooler, fans spin slower, and the saved airflow budget goes to your chips. Over a three-year refresh cycle the efficiency delta routinely pays for the power subsystem.

Thermal design for real racks

A single 40mm fan with an NTC-monitored hotspot map drives an RPM curve tuned to the CRPS-185 airflow path. Rated for −5°C to +55°C continuous output — the edge-site range — with a published derating curve instead of a hidden cliff. Fan-fault detection flags a dying fan through PMBus weeks before it matters.

Compatibility

Drops Into Standard CRPS Chassis

The CRPS-185 golden-finger connector and 73.5×40×185mm envelope are de facto standards shared across the 1U/2U server ecosystem — the same footprint the major CRPS vendors step from 550W through 2400W and beyond. We validate every production lot against the mechanical dimensions, connector tolerance and hold-up-time behavior your chassis vendor specifies, and we supply a fit-check checklist for your first-article run. For legacy or non-standard trays, send us the cutout drawing; bezel and handle variations are a routine ODM change.

Where This Series Lands

Enterprise servers

1U/2U compute nodes where the smart-versus-basic PSU tradeoff matters: PMBus variants for managed fleets, basic variants where the BMC simply watches a presence pin.

Storage systems

JBOD and SAN drawers running 7×24 near full load — 800W or 1300W units in N+1 with active current sharing, so neither supply ages alone.

Network switches

ToR and spine boxes squeezed for airflow: front-to-back or back-to-front fan direction matched to your slot layout, full output to +55°C for hot wiring closets.

FAQ

Budget worst-case CPU, memory, disk and fan draw, add 25% headroom, then divide by your redundancy count. A system drawing 900W sustained fits two 550W units in N+1 only with thin margin — 800W units give comfortable headroom and keep both supplies in the 50%-load efficiency sweet spot.
Yes. The 550W, 800W and 1300W CRPS series are in volume production. Samples ship in 2–4 weeks with full test data; volume production follows in 6–10 weeks including burn-in, from 100–500 pcs per order for standard configurations.
Yes — each rating is offered in a basic variant (PSON and PS_KILL signals, no serial bus) and a smart variant with PMBus 1.2 telemetry. The protection set and efficiency rating are identical; only the management interface differs.
The envelope, connector and mounting are held to CRPS-185 standard tolerances, so mechanical fit is normally direct. We recommend a first-article fit-and-function check against your chassis and can supply a compatibility checklist — for edge cases we adjust bezel, handle or connector orientation as an ODM change.
